GSArb Limited is based near the village of Bootle between Ravenglass and Silecroft, but we offer most of our services from Barrow to Workington.
Yes, we do. Large, straight stems (or trunks) can be used by the timber industry, any woodchip produced can be used by the biomass industry or as a garden mulch. Branch wood is normally used as firewood for heating domestic properties and all the small pieces of bark, sawdust, wood shavings and fallen leaves can be used as compost.
We always aim to leave the job as tidy as possible however, due to the nature of the job of producing small particles of sawdust and shavings, 100% removal is not possible. Once the main work is complete, a comprehensive clean up is conducted to leave the site in the cleanest condition possible.
Possibly. Within a conservation area the local authority must be given prior notice of the work being undertaken. They will usually come and visit the site and either allow the work or place a TPO on the tree/s. If a tree has TPO in place, then an application will have to be completed and sent to the local authority as to exactly what work is to be carried out. We can assist with any applications and can liaise with planning and/or tree officers on your behalf. You can usually check if you live withing a conservation area or if your trees have a TPO in place by contacting your local authority planning department.
No! As professionals, we always follow best practice guidelines and topping trees in far from great tree care. We can, however, offer great tree care and meet your objective. We would suggest reducing the canopy by x% and thin out some of the inner canopy. This would allow more daylight to enter your property whilst maintaining the trees natural shape, balance and health.
