Absolutely first-class services from these guys. We had a large cherry tree which was too close to the house and blocking out light. A very difficult position to get to but the work was completed with no damage to emerging daffodils and snowdrops nearby. Prompt, friendly and very easy to do business with and a very competitive rate

would 100% have Gary come out and sort my garden again! Thankfully for us it won’t be anywhere near as much of a job! Him and his team did a fab job! Very knowledgeable and reliable

Where are you based?
GSArb Limited is based near the village of Bootle between Ravenglass and Silecroft, but we offer most of our services from Barrow to Workington.
Can you remove all the waste and what happens to it afterwards?
Yes, we do. Large, straight stems (or trunks) can be used by the timber industry, any woodchip produced can be used by the biomass industry or as a garden mulch. Branch wood is normally used as firewood for heating domestic properties and all the small pieces of bark, sawdust, wood shavings and fallen leaves can be used as compost.
How clean will you leave my property?
We always aim to leave the job as tidy as possible however, due to the nature of the job of producing small particles of sawdust and shavings, 100% removal is not possible. Once the main work is complete, a comprehensive clean up is conducted to leave the site in the cleanest condition possible.
My tree has a TPO or We live in a conservation area. Can you still work on my tree?
Possibly. Within a conservation area the local authority must be given prior notice of the work being undertaken. They will usually come and visit the site and either allow the work or place a TPO on the tree/s. If a tree has TPO in place, then an application will have to be completed and sent to the local authority as to exactly what work is to be carried out. We can assist with any applications and can liaise with planning and/or tree officers on your behalf. You can usually check if you live withing a conservation area or if your trees have a TPO in place by contacting your local authority planning department.
My tree is too big and blocks light can you top it?
No! As professionals, we always follow best practice guidelines and topping trees in far from great tree care. We can, however, offer great tree care and meet your objective. We would suggest reducing the canopy by x% and thin out some of the inner canopy. This would allow more daylight to enter your property whilst maintaining the trees natural shape, balance and health.
What qualification and insurance do you hold?
Our insurance cover is set at £5,000,000 public liability cover and £5,000,000 employers liability cover.

All our staff are qualified for the task they are employed to do. As well as holding all relevant ground-based qualifications, our arborists are qualified in tree climbing, aerial cutting techniques and aerial rescue procedures as a minimum. Our more advance staff are qualified to conduct complex rigging, felling large trees and/or dealing with wind blown tree.

Along side the tree related qualification we also have staff qualified to operate quad bikes, agricultural tractors, forestry tractors, skidders, winches, diggers, telehandlers and a range of other machinery.
